Who we are

Daymark Sites is a UK-based web design business. We build websites for independent and small businesses. We are the data controller for any personal information you submit to us through this website.

You can contact us at jshorting70@gmail.com with any questions about this policy or how we handle your data.

What we collect

We collect personal information only when you choose to share it with us. This happens primarily when you fill in the contact form on this website. The information you may provide includes:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Your phone number (optional)
  • Your business name
  • Details about what you are looking for, provided in your message

We do not collect payment information through this website. We do not collect sensitive personal data.

If you email us directly, we will also hold the content of that correspondence.

How we use it

We use the information you provide solely to:

  • Respond to your enquiry
  • Discuss your project or requirements with you
  • Follow up where we have an ongoing conversation

We do not use your data for marketing purposes, sell it to third parties, or share it with anyone outside of the services needed to operate this website.

Legal basis for processing

Under UK GDPR, we process your personal data on the basis of legitimate interests: specifically, to respond to your enquiry and potentially enter into a contract with you. You have the right to object to processing on this basis at any time.

How long we keep your data

If you make an enquiry and we do not proceed to work together, we will retain your contact details for up to 12 months in case you get in touch again. After that point, your information is deleted.

If we do work together, we will retain relevant correspondence and contact details for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes of that working relationship, and in line with any legal obligations.

Third-party services

This website uses the following third-party services which may process data on our behalf:

  • Formspree — our contact form is handled by Formspree, which processes your submission and forwards it to our email address. Formspree's own privacy policy applies to the handling of that data.
  • Google Fonts — fonts are loaded from Google's servers, which means your browser makes a request to Google when you visit this site. Google may log this request.
  • Google Analytics — this site may use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use it. If enabled, this collects anonymised usage data such as pages viewed and time spent. No personally identifiable information is sent to Google Analytics.

We do not use advertising networks or tracking tools.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access — you can ask us what data we hold about you
  • Rectification — you can ask us to correct inaccurate data
  • Erasure — you can ask us to delete your data in certain circumstances
  • Restriction — you can ask us to limit how we use your data
  • Portability — you can ask us to provide your data in a common format
  • Objection — you can object to processing based on legitimate interests

To exercise any of these rights, please email us at jshorting70@gmail.com. We will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
